Interior Design Foundation Year

Foundation Year work So Far
So far the foundation course has allowed me to experiment and explore within the interior design pathway and I have created an array of different work including wallpaper designs, concept boards, printmaking, mood boards and developing digital knowledge on software. I think the biggest positive influence and impact on this course has been the like minded people I have met, I feel it has allowed me to progress with my creative confidence and finding my style. Communication has been essential to project my ideas and make improvements within my work.
Project 1
Wallpaper Design following into fashion area and interior design pathway.
Post it note designs inspired from trip to Scarborough using a range of mixed media to begin developing ideas for wallpaper samples.
Quilt exhibition
York Quilters Guild

This mini project was to create a 30x30 quilt design in collaboration with the York Quilters Guild. Following a workshop I found I was interested with the idea to use glass for my piece instead of a traditional quilt design using fabric. I chose the warm colour palette to link to my 70s theme within the eras project I was doing at the time. The piece unfortunately cracked in the kiln just before deadline therefore I had to quickly adapt my design and seal it back together with another piece of glass. I haven't worked with 3D materials like this before but think I would love to continue this in my future work.
